Foways Workers

Give the work a colleague.

Foways Workers is a Windows desktop app for government teams where every chat is an AI worker with its own instructions, conversation memory, tools and working folder. Workers help draft, research and work with files, with risky actions presented for your approval. Bring workers together in channels and schedule routines through your organisation’s Foways licence.

// the_overview

Some work needs a researcher. Some needs an editor. Some needs a colleague who remembers how you like the weekly report. Workers gives each of those roles its own conversation, instructions and context.

The conversation can lead to action: reading a file, writing a draft or running a command in the working folder. Risky actions appear as approval cards in the chat, so you can allow or deny them before they run.

Build a team around the way you work. Channels give several workers shared instructions and a folder; routines return to recurring jobs on a schedule. Your organisation manages activation and AI credits, with the balance visible in the app.

A conversation that moves the work forward.

Define the role, give it context and stay involved when it acts. Start with one worker and build a team around the jobs you repeat.

  1. Give the worker a role

Set its name and instructions, then choose a working folder. The conversation becomes the continuing context for that role.

  2. Review the action

Ask it to research, draft or work with a file. Allow or deny risky actions in the chat before the worker carries them out.

  3. Make repeat work a routine

Schedule the jobs you return to, or bring workers into a shared channel. Keep the team’s instructions and working material together.

What makes it work

01

A worker for each role

Give a worker a name, personality and standing instructions. Its thread retains the conversation, so the next request can build on the last.

02

Files, tools and your approval

Workers read and write files in their working folder and can run commands. Risky actions come to you as allow-or-deny cards inside the conversation.

03

A team in one channel

Bring several workers into a channel with shared instructions and a working folder. Import a team from a Markdown file and review it before creating anything.

04

Routines that come back to the work

Schedule a worker for a one-off run, selected weekdays or a repeating interval. Use routines for work that should not need a fresh prompt every time.

05

Research you can follow

Enable web grounding for a conversation when search is included in your licence. Searched answers cite their sources; voice playback can read replies aloud.

06

Connect the tools you use

Add local MCP tool servers through Plugins. Compatible workers use their tools through the same permission flow as the rest of their work.

Frequently asked questions

What makes a worker different from a chat?
A worker combines a conversation with a name, personality, standing instructions, tools and a working folder. It can help with files and commands as well as replies, and routines can run it on a schedule.
How do action approvals work?
Risky actions are presented as permission cards that you can allow or deny before they run. Workers operate with the files and commands on your computer; review the requested action and its working folder when granting permission.
How are workers licensed?
The Windows app activates with a Foways code supplied by your organisation. AI requests use the organisation’s licence and credit balance. Users do not need to paste provider API keys or create separate AI accounts.
Can I bring my own tools or a whole team?
Yes. Add local MCP servers through Plugins to make their tools available to compatible workers. You can also import worker profiles, channels, playbooks and suggested routines from a Markdown team file, with a review before anything is created.
